Aloha!

This year we will be having a Feast site on the beautiful island of Kauai, Hawaii. Kauai is known for it's scenic vista's and wonderful beaches, as well as having the wettest spot on earth. From the Na Pali coast to the Waimea Canyon (the "Grand Canyon of the Pacific"), Kauai has a lot to see and do. If you haven't been to Kauai before, take this opportunity to visit this millenial paradise.

New Updates:

September 22, 2009

We now have some additional discount information about activities listed on the Activities page.

The dress code is posted on this page

IMPORTANT! Bring a song book with you to the Feast. There will be NO extra hymnals available at the site.

  Meeting Hall

The location for church services will be at the Kauai Community College Performing Arts Center which is located in the city of Lihue. This hall is a very nice, upscale facility with comfortable seating, a good sound system and unobstructed views of the stage. Even more important is that it is fully air conditioned! You may get more details at their website http://info.kauai.hawaii.edu/pac/index.html

Service

The best way to have the "best Feast ever" is by spending some time serving your fellow brethren. There are many things that must be done in order for everything to go smoothly at a Feast site, and we rely on many of you to help us make that happen. Whether you can help decorate the stage, sing in the choir, usher, or park cars, we need your help. Please let us know what you can do by filling out the volunteer section on the Feast registration form on your My LCG page.

Dress Code

Hawaii has traditionally had a little more relaxed dress code for the Feast due to the warm tropical climate. During all church services traditional Sabbath wear will be worn by speakers, song leaders, accompanists, those performing special music, and anointing elders. Please note that the auditorium is air conditioned.

For the congregation, appropriate Aloha wear (dressy Hawaiian attire) will be optional: that is to say, nice trousers and Aloha shirts for men and modest Aloha dresses for females. Blue jeans, shorts, t-shirts or tank tops would be inappropriate. Appropriate footwear would be also be expected; for example, no flip flops or sandals, though women’s nice dress sandals would be fine. The other principle option will, of course, be normal Sabbath wear such as suits and ties for men and normal Sabbath dresses for women.
